Glamorous Condo

Our client is the owner of a PR company in downtown Toronto. She wanted to create a space that was sophisticated and inviting, but definitely with a feminine touch. We had a good budget to work with, but we tried not to go overboard in order to get the biggest impact.

The condo itself had great bones to work with. It has a good size, open concept living area and master suite. Hardwood floors throughout and lots of natural light gave it huge potential to be beautiful.

The key with condo living, is to maximize every piece that you put in to make sure every piece is also functional. When renovating a small space, it is important to use every square inch that you have available. Storage was huge for our client. Woman have a lot of clothes, and Cheryl was no exception. We displayed some of her favourite fashion finds, but also gave her more storage in her new TV console, and open shelving. The backdrop for the open shelves is a subtle marble wallpaper on one wall as a competing element with the large windows both other walls.

Sometimes condo-sized furniture actually makes a small space look smaller, so we chose a full size, slightly curved couch from Elte, in a grey lilac velour. We paired a smaller marble coffee table with a Mongolian fur stool to coincide with the scale of the couch, but also has the option of more seating.

The bedroom is one of our favourite girly, textural, and glamorous spaces that we have designed so far. We have a gold bed frame that has clean modern lines, with a lower headboard to not draw attention to the lower ceilings. Having a queen sized bed allowed for two large night stands that don’t necessarily match, but have equal presence. The custom made neon sign and framed photograph from House Eleven, accompanied with the white brick wallpaper tone down the femininity to give a more urban feel.
